Your Airway Consultation

Support for dog’s with breathing concerns

If you’re concerned about your dog’s breathing, an airway consultation gives you time to talk through what you’re seeing at home and understand what may be going on.

Arthur will assess your dog’s airway health, discuss his findings with you and help you understand what, if anything, should happen next.

What happens during your consultation?

01
We listen

Arthur will talk through what you’ve noticed at home, including your dog’s breathing, exercise, recovery, sleep, regurgitation and any other concerns.

02
We assess

Your dog will receive a comprehensive non-invasive physical examination to assess their airway health and identify signs of breathing difficulty.

03
We grade airway function

Respiratory Function Grading (RFG) and other airway assessment findings help build a clearer picture of your dog’s breathing and the severity of any BOAS.

04
We talk it through

Arthur will explain his findings, answer your questions and discuss the most appropriate next steps. If surgery is recommended, he'll explain what it involves, the potential benefits and risks.

“The initial consultation is one of the most important parts of treatment.”

Expert guidance

An airway consultation doesn’t mean your dog will need surgery.

The aim is to understand your dog’s individual airway health and give you the information you need to make an informed decision about their care.
